  • It is not required.
  • How long they stay and how they get home is up to the parents.
  • If they go to Music Fest make arrangements to pick up your kids on main campus, no one will be at Scott Park.
  • It can count as a Rocket Stage event if they have never attended before and stay at least an hour.
  • There may be an extra shuttle after school; we are not sure yet.
This event is WAY MORE FUN if you do not have a book bag to lug around and keep track of.

If you leave your book bag in your locker the building may be locked if you go back Friday evening.

If you want to leave your book bag in Mr. Nissen's Room or your locker he will be at school from 11am-noon on Saturday for you to get your stuff.

"Girls in Capes", Friday, August 22, 2014

Fantastic Rocket Stage-approved Cultural Event!

Feliza Casano (TECHS C/O 2009, BA UT 2012) will be speaking at the Bedford Branch of the Monroe County Library System.

Feliza is the founder and editor of the nationally recognized website
Girls in Capes.

Here is an article about her in the Toledo Free Press.

From the program description . . .

Ever notice that readers who talk about “strong female characters” only seem interested in girls who use physical strength? There are plenty of ways for girls (and boys) to be strong without using their fists – and THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL’s Agatha, BORN WICKED’s Cate, and FANGIRL’s Cath are all strong female characters who become strong in a totally different way. Come see this special presentation by girlsincapes.com founder and editor, Feliza Casano. There will be pizza!

Did you catch that part about free pizza?

Register here if you can go (they probably need a count for the pizza).

Here is a video from a talk that she gave last year at the Sanger Branch in Toledo.

The Bedford Branch is just a little ways across the state line up Jackman Rd. Approx. 10 miles from TECHS.
